Introduction to the MaGiC Guidelines

Welcome to the MaGiC Guidelines, an online tool for textile manufacturers. MaGiC, Made GREEN in China, is an initiative to challenge the traditional mindsets locked into the label, “Made in China”. By visiting this website you have already become an agent for developing a more sustainable fashion industry in China. MaGiC is not a certificate, but a set of simple, free and applicable guidelines that you can start implementing to become a green manufacturer:  reducing your environmental impact, improving efficiency and meeting the foremost demands from various brands.

Meeting the MaGiC Guidelines is a learning process and an opportunity for your business. You will find ways to differentiate yourselves from competitors and reach a rapidly growing market segment. Further, since green manufacturing means reducing energy, waste and water, manufacturers stand to achieve significant cost savings by implementing the right environmental improvements in their facilities.

These guidelines are applicable to all companies in the textile, textile product, and apparel manufacturing industries which process fiber into fabric and fabric into clothing and other textile products. The guidelines contain detailed instructions for cut and sew as well as dyeing manufacturing processes.
