MaGiC is a tool for Chinese textile manufacturers and an initiative for up-and-coming designers. As consultants for the industry, we have come to understand the needs and the capacity for developing a sustainable fashion industry in China. There is a need for a simple, applicable tool that can help the manufacturers take their first steps towards sustainability, and there is a need for designers to gain experience creating greener products.

The MaGiC Guidelines were created as a free, on-line tool for manufacturers. The guidelines are made up of 10 principles, key steps that manufacturers can take to reduce their environmental impact, improve efficiency and meet the foremost demands from brands. With the initiative we would like to lay the groundwork for environmental best practices in China’s fashion industry that show a profitable business opportunity while minimizing environmental and social impacts.

We accompany the guidelines with  resources from around the web on green design as well as information about past green design projects.
